Busy...

Ok... I had a preaching clinic yesterday, I have to teach on the first half of Acts on Tuesday, I have to teach on Romans in two weeks, I have to Dungeon Master a D&D game in a couple of weeks, I have to put together a conceptual piece on developing new liturgy, which I will both use as an invitation to a Maundy Thursday dinner and a blog post, and I'll be preaching for the very first time on Good Friday.

I promise I'm not just eating bon-bons and laying in bed.

This is one of the reasons I love living in Northern California.

Spring is on it's way.

For the last several months I've been sharing one laptop with my wife, due the untimely demise of one of them. I suspect foul play and the investigation is ongoing. My neuroses will not allow me to simply throw something up on my blog. I normally go through at least two edits for anything of substance I put up on here. That does not mesh well with sharing a 'puter with someone who has virtual pets to care for and a virtual restaurant to manage. Couple this situation with my job turning to shit and facilitating a good old situational depression and I've thoroughly neglected my blog.

The last several weeks have been a bit of a change. I've gotten to make a few new friends, Adele and Brett's blogs are on the blog roll now, and now have unfettered access to my computer again. I've also started walking during breaks during the work day. I'm going to try to take my life back from it's circumstances.

One of my new guilty pleasures is 30 Seconds to Mars.

I saw this flower as I wandered around my yard drinking my coffee this morning.

This is a morning glory bloom. It will be wilt when the day gets warmer and no flower will grow specifically there to take it's place. The sunlight hitting it was passing through the leaves of several tall pine trees and a large cedar tree that stands above the vine. Tomorrow the sun will be in a slightly different place as the position of the earth continues to change with the progression of the seasons and if the wind is blowing at all the specific path the light took to get to that place may not be open consistently. This will most probably not happen again at this particular place again.

I'm thankful for having gotten to see it. I'm not just thankful for flowers and sunshine and my yard. I'm thankful for this flower in this context.

It's finding stuff like this that make it worth growing sunflowers.
